its the queens mother, but yeah, he was looking at the queens mom thinking “he-he cant say that, can he?
my god, I love John Lennon. RIP!
I love the Beatles, but they were way too young to handle everything that was happening. Had they had better guidance they would have stayed together longer.
1:08-1:12 The man to the Queen’s left…the younger guy looks unsure,confused or slightly uncomfortable, taken off guard by John’s comment…
Sound amazing LIVE! Unlike many of bands of today!
I love John Lennon! RIP the best musician I have ever heard. :’(
And priceless.
This was one of the country’s premier shows and there was no way John Lennon would have uttered any obscenity – he may have joked about it before he went on stage just to frighten everybody – (the managment) but that’s all. The house band playing them off with a swingy version of Twist & Shout’s funny too.
Hofner semi-acoustic bass
I find it amazing that The Beatles made a cover that is more famous than the original song, and that has led many people to believe that they wrote it.
At first the phrase was “For the people in the cheapest sits, clap your hands. And the rest of you just rattle your fucking jewelry”, then Brian told him not to say that. Stubborn John said it anyway but he left the curse word out.
:)
holy crap, thats the moment for which i admire john the most…what balls it must take to do something like that…timeless
No argument from me.
BEATLES = GODS

sounds like john’s trying out his american accent. haha. :P
John Lennon wasnt lost for words but shortly after the jewelry-speech he was a little confused. The body language was in evidence and he was sort of glad shaking his head and starting with the song.
