thats some cheesy music you got

  2. bonjourpantoufle

why not just use a craft metal leaf when the resin is still tacky on the back?? then you don’t get the cloudyness that comes with the hot glue.

  3. ekf501

your resin tutorials are really helpful. thank you! just wanted to know if you’ve ever tried to make dual coloured gems?

  4. msanjanetta

How do you make your holes in your gemstones?

  5. Shipper08

Like Ciel from Kuroshitsuji’s family crest ring right? If you draw an image onto the board it’d work the same. There’d just be an image there.

  6. illburloser

awsome tutorial, i pretty sure i can follow that.
i want to find a way to put an image in the back of the stone but im afraid it might not work.
anyway, thanks for the help :)

  7. beshem

    Really? huh…I wasn’t aware of that…

    Thanks for your wonderful tutorial!

The hotglue works well. (I don’t use superglues because those have a tendency to eat the foil.)

  9. beshem

have you ever thought of using Super77 instead of hot glue?

  10. beshem

@peionastick yeah…just don’t add any dye…also, in order to get a hole through it, use a power drill with a small bit very carefully

So what if I wanted it clear like no color? Do I just not add no dye too it? And also how would I make a hole in it, if I wanted yo make a necklace.

how heavy are the BIG gems?

  14. DarkEmpressRose

You can take one of the big gems and put it on your belly button and now your one of them cute little trolls!

  15. theproplady

COSPLAY! (Just look up any fantasy anime. You’ll see hundreds of implausibly big gems…)

  16. blahtodie8

what exactly are you planning oon using that big ass gem for!?!?!?!?!?!?

  17. CalmBeforeTheStorm15

    Great video!
very informative, loads of help :)
accidentally rated it 2 :( my bad!
by yeah, helped me understand things better, thank you!

  18. theproplady

No, I’ve never tried adding acrylic paint. I find that I can sometimes color resin stones by adding an enamel glaze (or some metal flake paint) to the outside of the gem.

  19. theproplady

if you want the image to be clearer, I would place it on the back of the resin while it’s still wet/soft.

  20. VegPanda

Lets say I want to do clear gems with an image behind it. Would I put the resin in the mold and rest the image on the back or would i glue it to the back of the finished resin like you did with the shiny paper?

  21. mswoodog

great video!!I have one question. Can you or have you ever tried acrylic paints in the resin?? Thanks bunches

  22. turquoiseczech1

I think a lot of us girls have that, m’dear ;D

  23. theproplady

I’ve had problems with silicone molds—polyester resin won’t set in them and clear epoxy resin jewels cast with silicone have this non-shiny surface that I can’t coat with sealant. (It just beads up.) If anyone knows how to get around that, I would be grateful.

  24. theproplady

No. You have to make them. (I use styrene plastic sheets which I line with mailing tape to make a smooth surface. ) The hardest part is cutting and fitting the plastic pieces together so they make a “bowl” shape into which you can pour the resin. (And pray it doesn’t leak.)

    Transparent for clear gemstones.
