I make handmade fashion jewelry and I have tons of it. I have been selling them to friends and family but now I want to venture out to sell my jewelry at stores and boutiques . How do I get started?

ebay is a first start to see if you get a response
put big pictures
My best bet would be going to them and showing it to them. Most likely to a store that only has 1 store rather then a franchise.
like you are now to family and friends.
Try local craft fairs. You have a product that is unique to anyone out there.
Go to the store and inquire. Do a presentation with your product handy. Make a website with pictures of your product. When you make the website, please send me the address to rubybgc@yahoo.com. I’d be interested in looking at it.
This should be easy! Find out who owns the boutiques and take some of your best pieces to show them! Perhaps they’ll take them on consignment or buy them outright. You will have to negotiate the wholesale price, because they have to generate a profit, so don’t make the pricing too unreasonable!!!! Good luck!
You can try Ebay or other sales websites….Amazon…..start your own website for display & sales on-line……info is on-line !
first enter the store and see if their stuff is similiar in both quality and design then speak to the store manager or owner and ask them if they are interested.
Make a display case out of a 1′ x 1′ cardboard box. Wrap it with pretty cloth and in the bottom place a Styrofoam pillow wrapped in black cloth. Pin your jewelry neatly on pillow, but make sure it can be easily removed by salesperson. Take it into small owner operated stores and ask if they will sell it for you. They will want a commission.
Do you already have your business name?
Shop around and see what other handmade jewelry looks like, as well as how much it is selling for. You want to make sure that you are pricing your product properly, and make sure that it is marketable. How is your jewelry different than others(this is what you should ask and answer yourself)?
After that, I would look into a resellers license.
From that point, I would create my own contract(you can find consignment contract forms online),this is for small shops.
Then, after that with business cards, brochures (all made at home or Vista Print) market your product and approach shops about your product. As you go, you will learn more.
Write down your goals and you can accomplish them!!
Hope this helps..
I would suggest going store by store and meeting with the owner. Arrange an appointment or just go in there when it’s not busy and talk to the owner. Most of the time you’ll be turned away, but you have to sell your items, so be persistent. You gotta have variety of items too, and remember styles change as the season changes, and styles are different in different parts of the country.
You can also check out a wholesale jewelry store if there is one near your area. If not there are also big shows, where lots of wholesellers attend to showcase their store, there are lots of fashion jewelry stores there also. Lots of owners of small stores go there to shop. You can meet many people like yourself at those place. They can probably give you a much better advice.
